System, light, and dark themes with four quiet chat backgrounds, responsive from phone to desktop.
Clear privacy, no magic words
Messenger protects supported chat content and media with Matrix end-to-end encryption. It does not claim complete anonymity: the server and network can still observe metadata such as IP addresses, connection times, and room membership.
Messages, photos, files, and encryption keys are handled by the Matrix E2EE stack.
Use fingerprint or Face ID for quick access, with an optional PIN fallback on the device.
The interface explains what encryption does — and what it cannot hide — instead of promising “total anonymity.”
The app only notifies you about releases. You decide when to open the download page and install an APK.

Good to know
Choose “Registration” in the app, then pick your name, username, and password. No invitation, email address, or phone number is required. If a friend sent an invitation, you can add it optionally to connect with them immediately.
No. End-to-end encryption can protect message content, but the server and network still process metadata such as IP addresses and connection times.
The app checks for new releases and shows an update button. It downloads and verifies the signed APK inside the app; Android then asks you to confirm installation. Silent installation is intentionally not used.
No. The APK installs directly on Android. Android Studio is only a development tool and is not required on your phone.
The application and initial self-hosted setup have no subscription. Your own internet, hardware, and future infrastructure costs remain separate.
